      In 1995, Martha Smith recorded 215 grave markers in the cemetery. From the records of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 1832-1903, she recorded 24 persons buried at cemetery for blacks, one mile east of Pittsboro. Sondra Brooks updated the survey and photographed the markers in the cemetery in March 2025. At that time, there were 401 readable markers.
