Current Status - Enclosed by a wire fence, this rectangular (52' X 80'6') cemetery contains 42 visible graves, 28 of which have inscribed markers. The remaining 14 graves are marked by rough fieldstones, but 10 are identified. A Weaver Memorial has been placed in a central spot in the cemetery opposite the entrance gate. The earliest marked grave is that of the Reverend Thomas W. Weaver, 1785-1843.

Comment - It was later recognized that in fact there were slaves buried outside the area enclosed by the fence, and in June 1995 a group placed a splendid monument just outside the fence in memory of the Afrivan-American persons buried in the cemetery and those who helped in the development of the Town of Carrboro. [1996 update] Slave area.
